Head Start Health Requirements
 
To enroll a child in the Head Start Program, the following requirements must be met:
 

  • Findings of an up to date physical exam must be entered on a State of Connecticut Early Childhood Assessment Record (yellow ED 191).
  • A TB test or risk assessment.
  • A lead test with results.
  • Hemoglobin/Hematocrit test with results.
  • A complete dental examination

 
All children enrolled in the Head Start Program will receive a hearing test and vision test.  Children will also have their heights and weights taken twice a year to track their growth.
